The Seattle waterfront is an ever changing scene these days. As a kid, my favorite part of coming to the city was to go to the waterfront and see the Mummy at Ye Old Curiosity Shop. This is a cheeky tourist shop, sandwiched in between the docks downtown but they have (yes, it is still there) a real mummy in the back of the store and another "must see" for anyone who travels here. Lately, Seattle has done so much more to the waterfront and in a few years, this will be the new center of the city and hot spot for photography. The ugly Alaskan Way Viaduct will be gone. This old freeway is one bad earthquake away from taking care of that by itself, anyway. A new tunnel will carry traffic underground, past the city. Above ground, the Wheel is Seattle's newest landmark. Also, the Seattle Aquarium is a great stop that doesn't get enough national recognition and, in my opinion, is on par with the Monterey Aquarium. This fine art image captures the Wheel, Century Link field, Safeco Field, a ferry boat and Mount Rainier.
