Olympic National Park, Washington State

Thousands of people travel to Olympic National Park which spreads across most of Northwest Washington State, covering the Olympic Peninsula.  I grew up hiking here as a kid.  Every year, my youth group would make the trek to Lake Ozette and hike this boardwalk through the Hoh Rainforest and camp on the ocean beach.  I loved every minute of it.  This camping isn't for the faint of heart.  It is rugged and primitive, but a rare chance to truly "get away from it all" and experience nature.  As weather comes in off the Pacific Ocean, it gets trapped under the Olympic Mountains, leaving nowhere to go but the Washington coast, hence one of the rainiest places in North America - and one of the most beautiful.  With some of the tallest trees in the world, you are sure to see whales, seals, sea lions, deer, elk and, if you are lucky, maybe a bear or cougar.  They make for great photography but keep your distance while taking in the majesty of this place.
